My rides for the day…polar opposites in a lot of ways. Started of with Harry. Spurs and crop necessary to get the “Dumb-blood” to pay attention…but he has lots of fun buttons once he gets going. Fancy beasts are fun to ride, even though he’s not really my type overall.
Lacey was the second, just did a little bit of trot work to try to get her back into lesson shape. She has a tendency to be very mareish, and hates flatwork. Her preferred method of working is this: lunge line to warm up, throw a rider on and point her at a jump. Basically, IEA/IHSA jumping classes is what she would excel at. She’s so much fun, and so balanced…when she isn’t busy kicking out because you insist that she actually does have to do flatwork sometimes. But she was really good today - five seconds of discussion right when I went on, and then was very sweet and forward. I actually really love riding this little mare - compact little jumper girl.
Also, the poor thing is allergic to bugs :( Not much luck in the remedy department.
